The Icebook

With Davy & Kristin McGuire’s “The Icebook”, I explored the possibility to create presence and intimacy in the museum setting. In the imposing Memorial Hall, modelled after Pantheon, we build a black box to house 12 guests and McGuire’s intricate miniature projection theatre. For the visitor it was an experience of the clash between the sacral space of the Memorial Hall and the delicacy and intimacy of the play. The grandiose became a backdrop for the intimate.
